The Pine Center for the Arts welcomes Brittney Love and Lisa Palomino, two unique styles, one dynamic gallery!
Brittney Love was born & raised in Minnesota and moved to Montana after high school. While spending the majority of her adult life in the mountains, she was awed by the wild life and beautiful mountain views. In discovering pyrography (wood burning that is done on a variety of surfaces, including wood) she fell in love with the idea of creating wild life on a natural canvas. Love truly enjoys the process of wood burning including the smell, the sound, and the images coming together, plus the challenge of fixing a mistake without the ability of erasing. Love says, “Sometimes mistakes are made that can’t be undone, but you can find a way to soften it and still have a beautiful outcome”.
Lisa Palomino was born in Santa Monica, CA and has resided in Michigan, Wisconsin, & Minnesota. She has been drawing or designing as long as she can remember & always has sketch books going! Her studies have included commercial art, architectural drafting, and graphic design. Palomino’s current style is Fractal Art (art that is created by repeating mathematical patterns continuously, like repeating patterns that appear in nature). She discovered this style while tinkering around with digital art on her cell phone. When Palomino is not creating art on paper or on her computer, she works for a major medical center to support her true passion.
The Art of Nature opens on Friday, February 3. The public is invited to an artists’ reception from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 3. Wine, beer and light appetizers will be served. The gallery will continue throughout the month of February. Regular gallery hours are 10 am-5 pm, Thursday-Saturday and 11am-5pm Sundays. The gallery is free and open to the public.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through an operating grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council, thanks to legislative appropriations from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund. Located in Pine City, the Pine City Center for the Arts has been serving the Great Pine City area since 2009. With a variety of programming opportunities, the non-profit, volunteer-led facility is a gathering place for artisans and art lovers alike.
