by John C. Niemi & Mary Bradley

John is a graphic artist by training, who uses a camera to define the visual field – the shape, texture, light & shadow within the viewfinder to capture nature’s patterns and the patterns in nature.

John says “I don’t travel to exotic places to appreciate what Mother Nature has created. A closer look in the woods next door, the pasture across the road and the flowers in my backyard enables me to engage color, texture and shape to capture the awe and wonder of nature”.

John’s work is focused on the patterns found in nature. The result is an invitation to stop and take a closer look. “If and when I pull back it is because I have found a broader pattern to capture in the landscape – naturally occurring or unknowingly created by man”.

Mary Bradley is the owner of Breathtaking Scenery Photography which is based out of Lino Lakes, Minnesota.

Mary says “I enjoy taking photos of the outdoors such as waterfalls, nature and nighttime. I love the challenge of going to airshows and horse shows to take pictures. Ever since I was a little girl, I have found cameras and taking pictures thrilling.”

When she captures an image, it is usually in the moment but sometimes planned. Her images bring memories to those that see them, spark a desire for a place they want to visit or an activity they want to experience.

Mary is a member of Gallery96 in Shoreview. Her artwork has been on display at Ascend Coffee and Wine Shop, Shoreview Community Center, Shoreview Library and Claddagh Coffee shop. She has sold pieces at Ascend Coffee and Wine shop, art fairs and at the Pine Center for the Arts Gallery.
